'Back Alley' FS Smith

At the start of the month I was introduced to Cailska Reagh and got the opportunity to watch him shred the Canmore skate park. So we met up recently in the alley way behind Rude Boys, this kid is 'jaw dropping' on a skateboard. There was no real plan for the afternoon, just skate and shoot which is second nature for Cail.

Aside from being an exceptional skater, Cail is aspiring artist and quite the character to say the least. In between throwing himself down a few stair sets or off a ledge or three he would pull a sharpie from his pocket to throw up some of his signature art on the closest wall. Cail + Skateboard = ShtChea!!!
Thanks Cail.

Box of inspiration!!

So I recieved a whole bunch of gear like 2 months back and Marcel was so kind as to come out and throw himself around for an hour or two so that I could use the new gear. Thanks Marcel!!!

So yeh I'm pretty stoked with how they turned out, some of them..... actually most of them have some motion blur which I'm bummed about. Live and learn I suppose, I can't wait to drag some of these local shredders out to Calgary and throw them down some stairs and see what we can create. Keep an eye out, don't be scared to leave a comment and tell me what you think.

Winter is over......

OK, so I have been a little lazy when comes to giving my blog some love. So since my last post winter has ended, all the ski resorts have closed and then has done nothing but rain here in the rockies. So this post will be from the final few days and weeks of the 2010 winter season.

Chew judging at Steve-0's "Garden Gnome Innvotational"

T.K.

I have been having alot of fun just try to take spur of the moment portraits of all the crew anywhere and everywhere. I think you can get some much more amazing expressions from people that dont know that they're being photographed. These are from the Garden Gnome Innvitational (Steve-0's skate style comp) check out the vid!!!!

I've gone wireless

So after I was given an awesome present, my 580 exII (flash). I soon realised that on camera flash can be good but off camera flash opens up a massive new world of possabilities, so after alot of research I decided to buy a couple of Pocket Wizards (wireless triggers). I have been playing around lately and here's what I've been up to. Im not totally satisfied with my work so far but practice makes perfect, back to shooting!!!!

TWENTY TEN

2009 has been an amazing year!! I have moved half way around the world, worked some random jobs, seen some of the most beautiful scenery, got super deep pow, met heaps of awesome peeps and chosen a career path that im very passionate about.

Photography in the start of 2009 for me was just a real fun and interesting hobby, it wasn't until mid year that I was seriously considering a career in this lucrative world. In August I was asked to take photo's for a local resturaunt "El Toro", the owners had just bought the buisness and wanted to change the look and expand their resturaunt by adding a website. I think doin this little job really locked in that photography was what I wanted to do. After that, as I shown in a previous blog, I shot the advert for Mt Magic Freestyle. Then covered the Lake Louise "Heavy Metal Rail Jam" and got a shot in the Outlook Newspaper, so all in all 2009 was more than just a change in lifestyle it has been a change in my LIFE.

2010 is nothing but looking up, as of late I have had lots of good feedback on my photography. (thanks) This has only fuelled my fire even more, day by day I have new and wonderful ideas and hopefully come to reality. Even though I have been getting all this great feedback my shots would be nothing without the people I have surrounded myself with, thanks for all your help and support so far!!

Anyway enough chit chat, here's some shots from the last month or so. Happy Holidays!!!!

The big smoke.....

Lately I have been so busy riding I havent found time to do much else, but that has led to some awesome days shredding with the crew. Last week Steve'o tells me they want to do a sesh in Calgary, so I get super pumped then last minute he tells me its off.

Then 7am the day we were meant to be goin to Calgary he calls and says we can GO, we just have to squeeze everything into my van. Little did I know it was goin to be me, 4 other guys, 4 snowboards, my camera gear, Logans filming gear, 5 shovels, a bungee cord and 4 pairs of smelly as boots. A coffee stop, 2 'Safety' meetings, a couple of dodgey lookin half flat tyres and whole lot arguing weather or not the run for the rail would work, the boys finally get to do some boardin' and here's a little sample of the jump off.
